Commercial Vehicle Fire Protection Off-road Vehicle Fire Suppression System
Vehicle fire suppression can be incorporated as a stand-alone system, a manual/automatic fire protection system or as a simple hand-held extinguisher. Although commercial vehicle fire suppression is not as commonly installed as for the vehicles that do hard mechanical work, it could nonetheless be regarded as a necessity. In the case of an accident, motor vehicles can easily be caught up in flames and trap a burning victim inside. For the vehicles that don’t have an automatic or stand alone system installed, a hand-held fire extinguisher should be equipped and easily accessible by hand.
Statistics show that off-road vehicles burn with alarming frequency. These vehicles are susceptible to fire several reasons. They often operate steady for several hours at a time. They yse flammable liquids -lubricating oil, gasoline, diesel oil, greases and hydraulic fluids- in their normal operation. They also generate heat-from engine blocks, manifolds, turbochargers and brake systems-which can ignite these flammable liquids and debris.

As shown in Fig.1, the fire extinguishing device consists of a cylindrical fire extinguishing device main body, an electric trigger, a mounting bracket, and a heat-sensitive wire. The left end is a multi-nozzle grid and mesh nozzle, which is sealed by label and will be the guide for the injection of fire extinguishing agent when the fire extinguishing device is started. The right end is electric trigger, which is a threaded hole and covered with a cap during transportation, and the electric trigger is fixed and sealed in the threaded hole during installation. The middle part is the fixed bracket. The heat-sensitive wire is used for automatic temperature-sensing and start device, and it should be installed according to the position shown in the figure before usage.
The device is fixed on the ceiling or wall of the protective space with fixed parts in working condition.

Working principles of device.
FireLess 2.0 Aerosol Automatic Fire Extinguishing Device has two start methods: temperature start of heat-sensitive wire and start of electric trigger. The start of electric trigger can form automatic temperature sensing, manual start and alarm linkage through other temperature-sensing start elements, manual buttons, and alarm mainframe.
When fire is happening, the fire extinguishing device is started through electric trigger or heat-sensitive wire.
The fire extinguishing device sprays gray-blue smoke-like aerosols into protection area, which is evenly spread in the protective space, to suppress the redox reaction in the combustion process. In addition, this device can absorb heat through decomposition reaction and quickly reduce the temperature in fire zone. Meanwhile, since the extinguishing particles in the gray-blue smoke-like mixture have a large specific surface area, the flame is quickly extinguished by continuous and repeated physical and chemical actions.
